2015–16 Segunda Liga
The 2015–16 Segunda Liga is the 26th season of the Segunda Liga, the second-tier football league in Portugal. A total of 24 teams, including five reserve sides from top-tier Primeira Liga teams, contest this competition, which began on 7 August 2015 and is scheduled to end on 14 May 2016.
Gil Vicente and Penafiel entered as the two relegated sides from the 2014–15 Primeira Liga, whilst Mafra, Famalicão, and Varzim entered as the three promoted teams from the 2014–15 Campeonato Nacional de Seniores.
On 19 June 2015, the LPFP announced that five teams instead of three will be relegated to the third tier to reduce the number of Segunda Liga teams to 22 beginning from the 2016–17 season.
